1. Who we are. The Film Room at Hoops College ("The Film Room", "we", "us") is a service of Hoops College LLC, PO Box 480516 Charlotte, NC 28269. Evaluations are performed by Hoops College Staff but are reviewed and approved prior to delivery by Aram Parunak. Questions go to film@hoopscollege.com.
2. Who these terms cover. These terms are an agreement between us and the parent or legal guardian who buys an evaluation ("you"). The player being evaluated ("the player") is usually a minor. By buying, you confirm you are at least 18 and are the player's parent or legal guardian, with authority to consent on the player's behalf.
3. What you are buying. One evaluation includes:
• Review of at least two full-game films you provide. Highlight reels may be added as supporting material, but the evaluation is based on full games.
• A written report (PDF) with strengths and weaknesses observed on film, the changes we believe will matter most, what will be exposed at the next level, and a projected playing level.
• Links to short film clips illustrating the report, hosted as unlisted YouTube videos.
• One debrief call of up to one hour by video (phone as a fallback), for the parent and player together, scheduled outside the site.
• Questions answered for 30 days after the debrief call, by any channel. We reply within one business day (Monday–Friday, Eastern Time, excluding US federal holidays). A reply may be an acknowledgment with a timeline rather than a full answer.
Follow-up covers clarifying the report and development plan. Reviewing new film is a re-evaluation, not follow-up. Additional calls are $300 per hour. We share no preliminary impressions before the report is delivered.
4. Price and payment. The price is $2,000 USD, paid in full at checkout through Stripe. Payment is processed by Hoops College, and your card statement will show Hoops College. Promotional codes, if any, are offered privately and on their stated terms.
5. Film requirements. You provide links to at least two full games, viewable without a login or with access instructions. You confirm you have the right to share the film with us for this purpose. We review the film and either confirm it is usable or ask for more.
6. Turnaround and capacity. The report is due 3 business days after we confirm your film is usable. We accept a limited number of evaluations each month. If the current month is full, your evaluation starts in the next available month, as shown on the site before you buy.
7. The nature of the evaluation. The evaluation is honest professional opinion, based only on the film provided. It will name weaknesses as clearly as strengths. The projected playing level is opinion, not a prediction or guarantee, and it is less certain for younger players. We do not contact college coaches, promote the player, or promise placement, recruitment, scholarships, or results of any kind.
8. Corrections and disagreement. We will correct factual errors in a report, such as the wrong player, wrong game, or wrong statistic. Professional judgments stand. We are glad to discuss any disagreement on the debrief call or during the follow-up period.
9. Communication with the player. All communication includes the parent unless you approve direct communication with the player in writing on the intake form.
10. Recording of the debrief call. Every debrief call is recorded. You consent to this, for yourself and the player, when you buy, and we confirm it verbally at the start of the call. Recordings are stored privately, are never posted publicly, and are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Re-evaluation. If we recommend it, a re-evaluation is available within 12 months of the original evaluation for $1,000 through a private payment link. It includes review of two new full games, a progress report scored against the original evaluation, an updated projected level, a 45-minute call, and 14 days of follow-up. After 12 months, a new full evaluation is required.
12. Refunds. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.
13. Ownership and use of the report. The report and clips are for your family's personal use. You may share the report and clips at your discretion. We will not share them. We keep ownership of the report's content and format, and you may not resell it or republish it commercially. You keep all rights to your film.
14. Limitation of liability. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you or the player make based on the evaluation.
15. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
16. Changes. We may update these terms. The version you agreed to at purchase governs your purchase.
